Allen and Teresa attended the awards dinner for the Alabama Writer's Conclave 2010 Competition in Birmingham on Saturday July 17th. Allens' short story, "Up the Creek" won second prize in the humor category. The Alabama Writer's Conclave is the oldest continually active writer's group in America. The story will appear in the e-zine www.alalit.com
Allen's stories, "The Blacksmith Bullfrog" and "The Bovine Bomb of Boston Holler" were selected for publication in the Magnolia Quarterly Literary magazine, Summer 2010.
"Popcorn Minners", an excerpt from Allen's new book, Mule, was published in the latest edition of the Oxford So-and-So Literary Journal, May 2010.
Allen's short story "My Dad the Rustler" was published in the July/August '08 issue of "Country Extra" magazine, A Readers Digest Publication.

Allen on the air with Mickey Bunn, Host of "The Grinders Switch Hour". They talked about working on a well pump late one cold, clear night in Montana when it was 20 below zero. It became the inspiration for Allen's Christmas Story, "The Midnight Rider". Teresa.
"Christmas Comes to Wild Horse Flat"

Teresa Hodge and Allen with a second grade class at East Hickman Elementary School at Christmas time. Allen read his short story "Christmas comes to Wild Horse Flat" Each student was presented with a bound copy signed by Allen.
KIX96 FM COUNTRY RADIO
Allen was invited to read his inspirational short story, "The Midnight Rider" on KIX96 FM radio during the week before Christmas. The program was aired on two different evenings. Thanks to Steve Turner who is the owner of KIX96 for all his support of Allens work. This is the second time he has asked Allen to read one of his Christmas Stories on the Radio. Allen has also been interviewed on the live Saturday morning show "The Cowboy Corner".
